The Foolish Goats

Once two goats met in the middle of a narrow bridge.They were coming from opposite directions.There was room for only one goat to pass through .If one goat got back, they could cross the bridge. One goat said to the other, "You go back and let me pass."The other said, "No,you go back and let me pass first." Neither of them was ready to go back. They became angry with each other and began to quarrel. From words they came to blows. They butted and pushed each other. In the end , both of them fell into the stream below and were drowned.

The Fox and the Crow

A Crow stole a piece of bread and flew to a tree. A hungry fox saw the bird. He wanted to get the bread from the crow. He thought of a trick. He went beneath the tree and began to flatter the crow. He said to the crow, "What a beautiful bird you are! Your feathers are so fine . I think your voice is as your feathers.I want to hear you sing.Please sing me a song."The foolish crow was highly pleased to hear its praises. It opened its mouth to sing. The piece of bread fell to the ground. The cunning fox picked it up and ran off.

The dog and His shadow.

A hungry dog was wandering in search of food. He found a bone. He put it in his mouth and was going home. On the way, he had to cross a plank across a stream. He began to cross the plank. He looked down into the stream and saw his own reflection on the water. He thought it was another dog with a bone in his mouth. The greedy dog wanted to snatch the bone from the other dog. For this purpose, he opened his mouth. But the bone he was carrying fell into the stream. The greedy dog lost even what he had.

The bee is a winged insect. Bees live in swarms. A swarm of bees lives in a hive or honey-comb. A swarm of bees is divided into three groups: the queen, the drones and the workers.There is only one queen, bee in a swarm. It does nothing but lay eggs. The drones are the male bees. They do no work but eat honey.when the queen bee has married one of them, the bees in hive are workers. they make the hive with wax. The wax is brought out of their own bodies. A hive consists of little cells. Each cell has six sides. The workers fly out and collect honey from flowers. The honey is stored in the cells. The workers feed the queen bee and look after the beggs. Some guard the hive. The worker-bees are ever busy. We can learn indutry from them.

It also eats sweets and fruits. It lives on a tree. crow s live in flocks. They have a great sense of unity. If a crow is hurt, other crows gather round it and begin to caw. The crow is useful as a scavenger. It clears away dirty and rotten things. The crow is supposed to be a messenger. If it comes to our houses and begins to caw, we think some visitor is likely to come.

The hare woke up and ran fast, but the tortoise had reached the winning- post before him.
